Vestavia Hills is a city in Jefferson County. Vestavia Hills’ sister cities are Branchburg, NJ; Fair Lawn, NJ; Fairview, NJ; Mountainside, NJ; North Caldwell, NJ. As of the 2010 census, Vestavia Hills has a population of 41,029 people and encompasses 7.5 square miles. It was incorporated as a city on September 10, 1967. Vestavia’s public schools are part of the Vestavia Hills City School System, which also includes six elementary schools and two middle schools. 1. Vestavia is home to the Birmingham Zoo, which is open 365 days a year and has more than 500 animals.
2. The Summit, an upscale lifestyle center with such establishments as Bar Louie and Fleming’s Steakhouse, opened in 2012 near the intersection of U.S. Highway 280 and Interstate 459. It also includes an AMC Theatre and many other shops, including Bebe, Ann Taylor Loft, Jos. A. Bank, LOFT Outlet and White House Black Market.
