Leeds, AL is a town near the southern border of Alabama. It is called “The City Of Roses” because the rose industry began in this place and flourished here for decades. In fact, there are picturesque rose gardens with over 30,000 roses on display at the beginning of the route from Leeds to Birmingham. The garden route is a wonderful way to take in the scenery as you wind along country roads.
There are two state parks that flank the city of Leeds, Monte Sano State Park and Moss Rock Preserve State Park. At these parks, visitors may hike, camp, picnic or just enjoy the views from one of the highest points in Alabama – Monte Sano mountain.

Leeds is one of five incorporated towns in Jefferson County, Alabama, with a population over 500 as of the 2010 census. The other four are Saginaw, Warrior, Brookside, and McDonald Chapel. For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined these five places as one combined statistical area called Jefferson.
The Town Of Leeds is served by the Jefferson County School System which also serves the City of Birmingham, the City Of Bessemer, and other communities in west-central Alabama.
